The University of Arizona's Academic Leadership Institute (ALI) seeks to diversify the University’s
leadership capacity through a carefully developed curriculum for leaders in higher education.
Apply in Spring 2021 for next year's cohort
Institute Overview
ALI is a major University initiative to invest in its internal leaders. The program includes working retreats and meetings spread out over an academic year. Fellows who graduate from ALI will be prepared to lead for organizational impact across the University.
ALI is a partnership between the Division of Human Resources and the Office of the Provost, under the direction of ss梯子2022年, vice president and chief human resources officer, and Andrea Romero, vice provost for faculty affairs. ALI is one of the flagship programs administered by the Office of Leadership & Organizational Development.

Are you are a mid- to senior-level leader? Do you aspire to expand your University-wide role and influence? Are you committed to advancing and demonstrating the University’s values? Then ALI is for you.
You should have:
At least one year of management experience
Such as supervising staff, directing programs, leading grants, managing labs, or chairing committees for national organizations.
Broader experience outside of your home unit
Consider committee work, cross-unit projects, task forces, or internal mentoring programs.

By the time the ALI cohort begins in August.
Applicants admitted to the ALI cohort are typically at a director level or above, and primarily include assistant/associate vice presidents, assistant/associate deans, chiefs of staff, new deans, department heads, or interim titles in one of those positions.
